Does it matter if I register via the site or login via Facebook?

No, either process will allow you to use the site as it is intended. However, your favorites list will be stored under either your facebook login or the Grocer4u site registration.

You don't want to have both a Facebook login id and a Grocer4u login as that will look like 2 seperate accounts to us. The two login methods are not merged in the background. If logging in via Facebook, and you want to be entered into our promotions for grocery giveaway, be sure to include your email address as well.

The site does not seem to function correctly on my web browser?

The site is fully functional with Mozilla FireFox 6.0 and on, Google Chrome, and IE 7, 8, and 9. Testing is still being conducted on Safari. Try downloading the latest version of these internet browsers for the best experience. Although we try to accomodate all browser types, there are differences among them that can cause issues.
If you have the latest version, please send us the browser type and version number via our Contact Us link and we will look into resolving the issue. The browse type and version can be found on the Help - About pulldown menu on your browser window.

How do I get the coupons printed?

You will notice on your grocery list coupon savings, but you will not see the coupon until you select Print. The site will download all coupons for the products on your list and they will print out after your grocery list and notes. Simply take them to the store to redeem, just like any other coupon.

My coupons don't scan at the store. How do I fix that?

Make sure that your printer is not set to Draft print. We recommend that you print coupons on normal or better to allow your coupons to scan.

To check your current settings, select Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes. Right click on printer and select Properties. Select Printing Preferences button, then select Paper/Quality tab. Make sure that the radio button next to Normal is selected. You can also try a higher setting as well. We recommend that the printer setting be set to at least 600 dpi.

When should I use the checkbox for locking products on my grocery list?

The checkbox should be checked for any products that you buy on a regular basis. After printing the site will remove any products from your grocery list that you have not selected to lock into the grocery list.

All products, whether checked to be locked on the grocery list or not, will remain on your favorites list so you can quickly add any products back that you do not buy on a regular basis.

What does a sale icon with times 2 mean?

If you see a product with the sale icon that has a times 2, that means that product has a special on it from 2 sources at the same time.

For example: you will see the icon if there is both a manufacturer coupon and either a sale or coupon from a retailer. It gives you twice the savings on the same product.

What does the swap and save icon mean?

Its another way to save money on your groceries. The swap and save icon will show on products that have a comparable product that is on sale or has a coupon. If you don't mind trying comparable products, its a great way to save.

For example: suppose you are looking at your favorites list and notice a swap and save icon on a product. If you select the icon, the site will show you the comparable product that is currently on sale or has a coupon to help you save money.

Selecting the comparable product and adding it to your grocery list, will then place that product in your favorites list as well.

What are the radio buttons under My Stores used for?

You will see up to 6 radio buttons. There can be up to 3 of your favorite stores that you selected at registration time, plus a box for all of your favorites, one for Amazon, and one for all stores in your region. By default, the all region radio button will be selected, but once you select a different radio button, then that selection will be retained until you make another selection.

These radio buttons allow you to filter the products you are viewing to the store you selected. For example: suppose you have selected to view the Weekly Specials. If you only want to see Weekly Specials from 1 of your favorite stores at a time, select the radio button next to the store you want to see the Weekly Specials. The site will filter based on the store selection you made.

To view all your favorite stores at once, check the All Favorites radio button. To view all specials in your area, including those outside your favorite stores, select All Region radio button. To only view products we carry from Amazon, select the amazon button.

Another example would be on My Favorites view. The selected store will filter your products so you see all products you are currently buying or bought at that store along with products that are on your favorites list and are not being purchased at any store.

Why are some categories grayed out?

Depending on what you are currently viewing, some of the categories may be grayed out and not selectable. The categories for selection are based on the products that are available for selection for each view.

For example: suppose you are viewing My Favorites. In your favorites you have 150 products that are within 6 of the 16 available categories on the left. The site will enable only those categories that you have products under. You can then quickly find products in your favorites list by searching through those available categories. By hovering over the enabled main categories, you will see lower level product selection. You can select any of the different levels to see the products for that category.

If you want to view all categories for your current view, use the Show All selection.

If you want to add more products to your favorites, use the Browse All Products, Browse By Brand, or Weekly Specials selections.

How do I save the most time and money with this site?

We have a few suggestions on how to make the most with this site.

  1. 1. Create a "My Favorites" list. Think of this list as your own personal mini grocery store for the products you normally buy.

  2. 2. Now that you have a favorites list, you can quickly look at the "My Specials" list everytime you shop to see which products from "My Favorites" are on special. From there you can quickly add the ones you want to your shopping list.
